Bring on 2014!

I choose to think of this in terms of possibilities:
What are the possibilities that I see in my life, my children’s life and my professional life? This is an exercise I would recommend because it instantly makes you smile. Dreaming does that and if you haven’t had a dream nor have a goal or a happy place then you are missing out on something wonderful.
I have read that if you want it -begin to live your life in how you would if it has already happened. My dream is to create a life that is financially free. Well what does that mean? I am sure it means different things to different people but for me it simply means I am not hyper focused on my personal and professional budget and that I have provided a cash flow that will comfortably maintain my life and educate my children and as a sweetener a flat in Paris…
In 2013 I hired a life coach. Best decision I have ever made. She is fantastic and my personal and professional life has evolved because of it. Every Sunday night I speak with her and it is the perfect way to begin my week. I am armed and dangerous in this New Year. She has mentored and guided me through the process of understanding my wants and needs and visualizing not only what is important to me but how to put the work in motion to achieve it.
I have a renewed sense of comfort. Perhaps calm is the better word to choose. As a child I was told by my father that there is nothing you can’t achieve all it takes is hard work and then more hard work. Honesty and integrity go hand in hand and that when you are out in this world, Bridget you are a reflection of me and our family name so do not disrespect that or yourself. These are the words I live by and ask my daughters to honor that same message. However in honoring that message it may create a bit of anxiety or stress. I understand this personally and my relationship with Tums speaks to that as well. That being said, I have found that when I stay on my path, remain mindful of my journey the stress and anxiety is reduced. Significantly.
The thing about motivation or being career minded is that most of us never get “there” because the bar is constantly moving up. Let’s face it-the journey is the best part. My goal is to get “there” as I am taking my last breath. As you look at what your dreams are for you and the ones you love in this amazing New Year, be kind to yourself. Honor your family name and never lose sight of your path. If Dorothy could make it to OZ with a scarecrow, a tin man, and a cowardly lion then can you imagine what you could do with a couple of dreams and a life coach?
Happy New Year!
